In Judaism, tzedakah is not merely an act of giving; it is a commitment of faith and a fundamental part of life. Although many people believe that the Hebrew word tzedakah means charity, the word's roots convey much more - a combination of righteousness, fairness and justice. The Rabbis of old taught that the construction of the Temple was not completed until everyone had contributed to the effort. As a result, the Holy Temple, the place where our people and God met, was dependent upon the good will and donations of each and every one of our ancestors.

Today, each gift to Temple Beth Elohim reflects that tradition. Gifts provide inspiring worship services led by outstanding clergy; stimulating educational opportunities for children and adults; Jewish cultural programming; connection and caring for our congregational community; fulfillment of our commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world) and K'Lal Israel (the Jewish community worldwide); membership to all who wish to join regardless of ability to pay full dues/fees; and maintenance of our building.

Please click here to use our online giving form or call the Temple office at (781) 235-8419 Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to make a donation or receive additional information.
